Greater Manchester Police Museum

What an absolutely brilliant museum! We went for a tour at 2pm and had to leave at 3.30pm when it closed otherwise I think we would have stayed longer! There were so many displays to look at which covered everything from the hats/helmets they used to wear, to the weapons seized from the prisoners during the Strangeway Riots.

What made the visit extra special though was the dedicated team of volunteers, ex-police officers themselves, who took time to explain the exhibits and to tell us about their experiences working for the police. Agatha has come home wanting to look at careers in the police force now – it’s really inspired her.
