On a recent few days away in Filey, we went to Bridlington Animal Park. As we pulled up in the car park, we didn’t think it looked like much but boy were we wrong. We ended up staying for 2.5 hours and had the most amazing animal experience ever.
We virtually had the whole park to ourselves (the usual weekday home-ed perk) which meant the animals were very keen to come up and see us to get some of the feed we’d bought in bags. The staff were really welcoming and told us lots about the different animals whilst they went about their jobs.
We went to one of the many animal talks during the day which was about the racoons. We ended up hand-feeding them! We couldn’t believe it! They were such gorgeous animals and had such funny personalities. We saw plenty of other lovely animals too but we’ll always remember this visit as the one where we got to feed the racoons.
The girls wrote a poem when we got back home. It shows they loved the racoons the most too!
The third day of our trip
Was one to remember
We went to a park
In late November
The first sight were birds
Some colourful flamingos
And a big fat racoon
That climbed through the windows
Some goats were there also
Some fat and some small
But Colin was the clumsiest
One of them all
The camels were huge
With two giant humps
They ate all their hay
In big yellow clumps
We all saw three small donkeys
And one fluffy horse
They wanted some food
So we fed them of course
The porcupines
Were a cute spiky bunch
And we also saw
The armadillos eat their lunch
The racoons were our favourite
And one called Sully
Always played around
But wasn’t a bully
We enjoyed our trip
To the animal park
But we needed to leave
as it was getting dark
We would definitely recommend it
And will be back again soon
