Aggie has long talked about becoming a doctor and is now leaning more towards the speciality of psychiatry following her GCSE psychology studies. I’m always on the hunt, therefore, for resources showing what the pathway to becoming a doctor actually involves.
We saw a documentary advertised on TV about trainee F1 doctors in their first year of the job, and so we all watched the first episode together. Within the week, we’d watched all the available episodes!
This documentary is excellent and was perfect for a watcher of Aggie’s age and ambitions. The trainee doctors were all very likeable and, much to Peggy’s relief, there was hardly any blood or gore. I don’t know how accurate a portrayal it was of life for a trainee doctor, but it’s certainly made Aggie more determined to become one.
