Agatha and Peggy have been using Scratch to code some games recently. We have been using a book called Computer Coding Game For Kids by Carol Vorderman. We’d recommend the flexi-bound version just because it’s easier to keep open when you’re trying to reference things.
The first project we tackled was called Cheese Chase – a simple maze game where you have to guide a mouse to a piece of cheese, avoiding the bugs and dodging a ghost that appears at random intervals.
You can have a go at each girl’s games below. You’ll need to play them on a PC, though, as the controls use the arrow keys. Next up, Peggy is working on a Simon Says-type game involving steel drums, and Agatha is building a platform game where you have to help a dog collect bones and avoid killer doughnuts. I’ll have whatever Vorderman’s having.
