We are also super proud of Aggie but unfortunately she wasn’t so happy with her results. It’s been a tough day managing her disappointment whilst also trying to celebrate Peggy’s results. The joys of exams and having two children sitting them at the same time!
Aggie also got a 7 in Spanish; she was just 2% off an 8. She’s super happy with this result although slightly annoyed Peggy got two more marks than her.
Aggie then got a 6 in Psychology. This is of course still a good result, but she was hoping for an 8 or 9. All her final mock papers were consistently very high 9s so a 6 has come as quite a shock to us all. Her paper 1 was brilliant but her paper 2 is 19 marks lower which is just odd. She thought paper 2 went better!
We’ve asked for a copy of her script to see if there’s anything obviously wrong before we go for a costly re-mark. We know anything can happen in an exam but this just doesn’t seem right.
So it’s been a tough day. As a parent, seeing your child so upset is just awful. For context, Aggie wants to be a doctor so needs the highest grades possible to get into medical school. Getting a 6 is definitely not the end of the world and certainly won’t stop this from happening, but for her this is a big knock. She is receiving hugs, cake and ice cream in abundance!
