After Peggy asked what the difference is between a debit card and a credit card, we had a look at the different ways we can pay for things. After all, how many times do children actually see cash change hands any more? Or indeed know what a cheque is? We used the resources on the Natwest website to look at when and how we may pay by cash, cheque, bank cards and online banking. We even dusted off our old, unused cheque book so the girls could have a go at writing one out correctly. All handy life skills to have!
The Natwest has learning resources for ages 5 to 18 which look at all areas of money management. There are specific resources for SEN children too. With lesson plans, Powerpoint presentations, interactive quizes and worksheets, there’s plenty to work through. I’ve never banked with Natwest but I do like their free learning resources!
