This free workshop formed part of the Sangam Festival in Huddersfield which I found out about on Facebook. We learned about the South Asian technique of Mughal painting and where it originated. This style of painting was used for miniatures either as book illustrations (the equivalent of our illuminated letters) or as single paintings to be kept in albums. We then had a go at doing our own paintings by drawing on acetate using a template and then decorating a frame to finish them off. They look really good when held up to the light.
This was the third free session we went to as part of the Sangam Festival. We’d definitely like to get involved again in 2022!
