On Thursday 2nd September we went ghyll scrambling. It is where you climb up a waterfall or a moving stream. The first thing we did was walk to the river we were climbing. It was tiring but we got there in the end. We had some lunch then went on our way. We went through a tunnel first (I went round twice). Then we climbed up the ghyll and had several stops on some rocks when we were getting tired.
When we were almost at the top, Rod, who was one of the instructors, said that I would be at the top helping people. I felt a little bit sick because Rod said that if you fell you would fall to the bottom but I still did it. Once everyone was up, we went for the final scramble to the top and it was the best day of my life.

This session was run by the Castleshaw Centre which is owned by Oldham Council and they run sessions throughout the main school holidays. Children can be left for the day with the activity leaders and so these days give the kids a parent-free day full of adventures. The girls have done two sessions now and are keen to do more in 2022.
