Poor Peggy has been working towards her NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) Level 2 for what seems like an age as climbing centres have been closed over lockdown. After her courses had been cancelled and rearranged several times, tonight, finally, she at long last got that last climb/belay logged in her logbook. Level 2 is now complete! And she did it in style with her new chalk bag called Maisie the Monster.
Peggy’s been going to Parthian Climbing in Manchester (it even seems to have changed its name in the two years since we started). It’s built inside a fabulous old church, and does a great selection of hot drinks. A word of warning, though; it is flipping freezing in the winter months – they even supply blankets for the folk who aren’t keeping warm climbing the walls. Remember to wrap up.
