We had a look at the different kinds of gladiators using this Twinkl resource and then we had a go at designing our own. We thought about what weapon we’d choose and what clothes they’d wear. We decided it would be horrible to be a gladiator whatever you had! The girls then set to on creating an acrostic poem with the world Gladiator.
Whilst I don’t think the film Gladiator with Russell Crowe in it is suitable yet for the girls, we did look at a couple of scenes to bring the Coliseum to life.
At 1hr 13 minutes they arrive at the Coliseum and then it can be seen again at 1hr 17 minutes – although there are a couple of fairly gruesome bits in between the clashes of swords, so look out if you have younger ones watching.
