Aggie is a budding surgeon and so we bought a lamb’s heart from the butchers for her to dissect – it was a bargain at 49p! We watched a few YouTube videos of how best to do it (this was a good one Lamb’s heart dissection – YouTube) and then she just got stuck in. She used blue and red straws to represent the flow of de-oxygenated and oxygenated blood around the heart. It was absolutely fascinating to look at a real heart rather than just a plastic model or diagrams in books. It was also a good way for Aggie to lose her sister for an hour or so as Peggy hides from all things body and blood related!
