Bikeability was something the girls’ old school used to do in year 6 so the girls were keen to still have the opportunity to do it (80s children will know this as the modern equivalent of the Cycling Proficiency Test). I was searching for something else on Eventbrite and came across some free courses being run by the Calderdale Council Bikeability team. The girls were duly signed up – thank you Eventbrite!
The girls went 9.30am until noon, Monday to Wednesday, over to a school between Halifax and Huddersfield. The instructors (Janet, David and Lynne) were brilliant and all children passed levels 1 and 2 by the end of the course. I’m impressed with how much the girls learned and how much more confident they are now with cycling on the roads. It’s definitely a worthwhile course to work through to keep our little people safe on the roads.
