Bridlington Animal Park

On a recent few days away in Filey, we went to Bridlington Animal Park. As we pulled up in the car park, we didn’t think it looked like much but boy were we wrong. We ended up staying for 2.5 hours and had the most amazing animal experience ever. We virtually had the whole park ... Read more

The newest resident in our garden

We’d noticed a robin visiting one of our garden pots a lot and wondered if that’s where she’d laid her eggs. We read up quite a bit on robins and how long it takes for eggs to hatch and how the parenting works. A few days later we then heard lots of little chirping noises ... Read more

Mayans – religion and stars

We looked at the Mayan creation story, their Gods and about their thoughts on life after death. The girls were very interested in Pok-A-Tok, the game the Mayans used to play. Aggie tried to do it in the garden but found it really hard. We watched several YouTube videos of modern Mayans playing it. It’s ... Read more

An extra special visitor

Look who we saw when we drew back the curtains this morning! We watched it for ages before it disappeared off. We’ve taken to putting food out for the birds/squirrels just by our patio door so we can see the creatures up close. We weren’t expecting this though!

We did some research on hedgehogs using a Twinkl comprehension and looked at plenty of things online. We then went to visit a local hedgehog ... Read more

Fossil hunting in Whitby

This was Peggy’s rather delayed birthday treat (thank you Covid). We did a fossil hunting trip with Byron from Natural Wonders in Whitby. He gave us loads of tips on how to find fossils and his knowledge was incredible. It was amazing to see actual dinosaur footprints in the rocks and to hold a fossil ... Read more
